I am home again from my annual trip to the Australian Quilt Market. (a wholesale only event for those involved in the industry.) As has become a tradition, I travelled down with Linda from Gum Valley Patchwork.
This year we left early.....very early....my alarm was buzzing at 3.50am. The idea was to avoid the early morning peak traffic which luckily we did....even though we could easily have been side swiped from a big B-double truck if it wasn't for Linda's quick breaking......Surely 'Left Lane Must Turn' means you must turn????? give me gravelled, country roads any day!
Once again it was a fabulous weekend, full of fabric, patterns, notions, gadgets and all things that make my heart sing. It was mind boggling and soul filling at the same time. So what will you be seeing.....I can tell you Moda, reproductions, and the classic Liberty that I so love. There is something for everyone, but unfortunately not for a month or two until it arrives :((
(Sorry I have no photos from AQM, I get caught in the moment and camera's don't register)
It was not just AQM we attended. Finally, after almost 18months of trying, we managed to visit L'uccello.
There were so many lovely items to look at, but I could not leave without purchasing these;
Two large, (6 x 10 inch) bobbins.
We also visited the Myer Christmas windows. A treat for any age.
It was a wonderful weekend, the perfect recharge which I needed. Time to dusted off my sewing machine and lauch into some secret sewing for a secret magazine project.
Lenora X.
cant wait to see your moda reproduction fabric
