This time next week the doors will nearly be opening for Australasian Quilt Convention 2018. I am really excited about this years event. Not only do I have a new stall, I am releasing a brand new quilt designed by Megan Carroll.
The quilt is called the Sarah Wistar Quilt c1842 and in Megan's signature style, it features a collection of beautiful hand pieced blocks. Here is a little sneak peak.
The beautiful blocks offer lots of opportunity for fussy cutting and the chance to feature some of those favourite fabrics you will have in your stash.
There are also lovely broderie perse blocks to showcase beautiful florals.
The finished blocks are joined in columns with long sashing strips between the columns. I love the portability of these types of quilts. With some prior preparation, they can be worked on at sewing days, appointments or the idle time we sometimes find ourselves with.
The finished quilt top will be on display at my new stand, number 73.
There it is marked in red, just straight up from the entry with a little turn to the left. I will have the pattern for sale, and also two different starter packs to help you get underway with your new quilt.
Easter is coming upon us. The shop will be closed tomorrow, Good Friday then opened again on Saturday 30th March from 1 - 4 pm. The shop will remain closed while I am at AQC and will reopen on Thursday 12th April.
I best get back to more cutting, folding and bundling.
