I know I have said it before, but I really do love starting a new year. Its the time I pack away the disappointments of last year and start afresh. New goals, new projects and full expectations that it is going to be a wonderful year.
The first goal of 2018 has been to change the layout of the shop. It sounds quite easy, but it is quite challenging, especially working with the constraints of windows and doors. It took quite a few days, and luckily I have a few children who rotated in and out to help me (picture rolling eyes, dropped shoulders and "Mum do you really think this is going to fit here"), but now that it is done, I am thrilled with the new look.
Let me show you some snap shots from around the shop. This is in the counter room, out with fabric shelves and up with a quilt (Sovereign by Max and Lousie Pattern Co) and a lovely new, tripled tiered, fat quarter stand, made by my adorable son Hayden. The brief I gave him was maximum storage with minimal space. I think he has done exceptionally well. Apparently 'lit' is the new teenage word for awesome, so I have a lit stand in my shop.
And down the back blues and teals.
Its lovely to be back at work, and lovely seeing happy, excited people coming through the doors. Here's to a great 2018.
