It has been a terribly wet, windy day here in Nullawarre. I am not complaining though, the rain is well needed and it did cause the cancellation of a planned working bee, enabling me to keep working on the Daurmont Quilt.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I just need to hang in there another day or two.
As I keep stitching around the shapes my mind keeps wandering to how I will quilt this. At the moment I am seeing echo work, but I do need further practice. I think it is going to be a cold winter and I am sure this would be a great quilt to have on our bed.
AQC is looming fast, only 10 sleeps until set up day. I still have a number of items to tick off my list, but I am making progress. I seem to have a problem with focusing on one task at a time. I hope I am not alone. The busier I am, the more jobs I seem to find. Take Friday. While writing the newsletter I realised I didn't have a range of fabric entered on my website. While entering those, I was suddenly annoyed with the classification system. I decided it would be much better to do away with the classifications and just have all fabric come up on the screen with one click. A great idea, until the process I took deleted every allocation and imposed six hours work to restore. But the fabric is now listed, the website is nearly where I want it to be and the newsletter is published. I am just sorry that all the links I have made to fabric in my past blog posts will now be broken.
What is good news for some is bad news for others, and I have had the bad news of this,
Our cows are starting to calve again. Our 12yo son, is over the moon, he loves calving season but I am not so impressed, it means I'm back to the twice daily routine of calf feeding for another few months. Which has led me to make another decision.
I have decided to closed the shop at the slightly earlier time of 3.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I will remain open until 4.00pm on Saturday. I hope this does not impose difficulties on anyone, and as always I will open outside of these hours by prior appointment.
My trading hours for the next few weeks will be interrupted. Please note I will be closed this coming Friday 14th April for Good Friday and will remain closed on Easter Saturday 15th April (but willing to open by appointment between 2.00 - 4.00pm). The shop will remain closed 19th - 22nd April while I am in Melbourne trading at AQC. Reopening on Wednesday 26th April 11.00am - 3.30pm. If in doubt to my movements remember you can always check the calendar section on my website to see where I am.
