Lots of new fabrics have arrived over the past weeks.
First to arrive was Nicholson Street. I was really excited to receive this range as it is designed by my friends Lisa and Lou from the Max and Louise Pattern Co. These great Aussie girls live in Victoria and have been designing patterns for a number of years. This is their first fabric range, an offering of great shirting prints.
I love the different colours in these shirtings. It is not easy to find shirtings with green, purple, gold and pink, so they are definitely worth adding to the stash, just to give that little bit of variety and interest in your scrappy quilts.
Lisa and Lou already have their next range of fabric designed, but it will be early next year before we will see it in cloth.
Hot on the heals of Nicholson Street was the arrival of Spice it Up, designed by Jo Morton. In Jo's adored style, this range has lovely small prints and small border stripes. The prints are perfect for small miniature quilts which Jo is so famous for, and also well suited for appliqué.
I have the complete range of 40 bolts.
Last to arrive has been Sussex, designed by Nancy Gere. Very timely given the Prince and Princess of Sussex are actually in Melbourne today. This fabric range features some lovely pinks, soft greys and raspberry.
All fabrics are listed on the website, just click on the highlighted names and you will be taken directly to them.
We had a wonderful appliqué gathering at the start of this month. Our special guests where Corliss and Megan from Theadbear.
It was lovely to see all their quilts and hear the inspiration behind each design. Both ladies have almost opposite ways of designing, but both produce such stunning quilts. It was a really enjoyable and inspiring day.
